Sunday Scribblings #52 - In the Kitchen

The kitchen I grew up in was my mother´s and the next 5 kitchens I cooked in were in rented apartments. I learnt to cook for a really big family in my mother in law´s kitchen but I didn´t feel really grown up until I cooked for my family on my stove in my kitchen. I have lived, laughed and cried in this kitchen. I have looked out the windows and watched my children play in the garden, seen visitors come and go and seasons come and go and watched my husband leave for good. In my kitchen I have surrounded myself with things I love and when friends visit it´s their favourite place too.
More Scribblings here,
more photos of my kitchen and my home here.

I think that is a great point. I think I'll feel like an adult when I cook for a family.
Beautiful post!

I was just looking at all the photos you have. First thing that comes to mind are the marvellous colours. It's wonderful to see a home so colour filled. Austria is a wonderful country to live in.

It's amazing how the kitchen, more than any other room, can evoke such happy and yes, sad, memories...

I hear ya. I've "kitchened" in about 10 different apartments, so there's always different memories for me.

You've used your kitchen well.

What I love about peeping into your home is all that beautiful color, and outside each window, in the background, perfect untouched snow. I just know it's as warm in your house as it looks!

After we've all done this S.S. for the kitchen, I'm sure we can all think of other memories in other rooms in our homes!

Your picture collage is stunning and very inviting. How true it is that all memories (happy or sad)center around the kitchen for so many of us. It has always been the center of our home no matter how many times we moved.
